I want to write on what the characters/audience knows vs. what they think they know in
The Wild Duck. I was going to say something like the difference between truth and lie makes the audience sympathize towards certain characters which suggests that no one is completely innocent
It's hard to prove what the audience knows or doesn't know. Consider how you can phrase your argument to discuss your ideas, but focus on the text to make it a viable argument. For example, what will you argue from the text to suggest that the audience is misinformed? Also consider why Ibsen would want to do this - what is the effect?
